The first design consideration made regarding the redevelopment of the building complex located in via delle Orsole in Milan was the analysis of the urbanism.
The existing building complex is located within the compact historic city center and overlooks the alley Santa Maria della Porta and Via delle Orsole, in area characterized by buildings of remarkable architectural importance.
The project combines innovation and conservation as two approaches working in synergy, mixing the volumetric mass of the existing base with the three-dimensionality and abstraction of the superior exterior structure. The mixed-use project is looking to maximize the potential of the existing architectural spaces enhancing their relationship with the outside.
It is a reinterpretation of the compact form of the urban Milan building.
For the development of the project proposal, the design team resorted to a federated BIM model divided according to the main disciplines: architectural model, structural and MEP.
